It's a part of what makes Dublin what it is.Many musicians and characters have been discovered from busking throughout the years.
There is a skill to busking and it is an art form that should be nurtured rather be stomped out.Lets stop this charade while we can!!!

Street performers should be celebrated, they give joy and happiness to the Irish people and tourists alike. Some street would be very boring without them.

I'm shocked to hear that Street Performance is restricted in Dublin. I've great memories of visits there over the last 20 odd years. But what are the local council thinking? Shopping, wandering around towns, without Street performance / music is on par with being stuck in a traffic jam, standing up on public transport & your iPod's in the pub . Are the local Council trying to kill the high street off? As a descendant of the Doherty's of County Donegal I'm very sad to hear that Dublin of all places is taking away this Irish tradition. What next ban Guinness from pubs. I hope they don't try this in Liverpool, or I'm switching to online shopping, & I'm an old fashioned fool who actually likes to buy directly from shops. Therefore, Dear Dublin Council, please reconsider this madness & put the life & soul back on the streets of Dublin where they belong, please keep Irish traditions alive. Street Art is essential to the high street experience. Peace, love & goodness, martyn.

Its ridiculous we have to even do this. Busking has just been a part of musical history as well just part of the experience of Dublin!

The street entertainers were really good. The crowds loved them and spent hours watching them. The local pubs still made a good profit

Regulation of art is counter intuitive and contrary to art itself. the left brain of Dublin (bureaucrats and politicians) does not understand the right brain of Dublin (artists and performers). This regulation is not good for the soul of the city.
