Thanks fir the great initiative. We do support direct flights to Guwahati. This would improve the connectivity from the Middle East to the South East Asia.

Thanks for signing the Petition. To start with, 2 days / week should be okay for the airliners. The airliners will have good business prospects, due to the below reasons: 1. Currently all NE people need to take Delhi, Mumbai or Kolkara route to reach Guwahati. During this process, we need to wait lot of time in transit / connecting flights. With a direct flight from Dubai to Guwahati, all NE travelers will prefer this direct flight. Not only for the middle east residents, this flight will support all NE people residing in UK, Europe, Africa, Americas etc. 2. It will boost Tourism Sector in Assam and North East. Many people from Middle East want to visit Assam and NE, but due to the long travel time, nobody prefers. With the inclusion of direct flight from Dubai, we can expect many tourists from middle eastern countries. Eventually Airliners will have good numbers of people taking this direct flight. 3. Guwahati can be the Stop-Over location between Middle East and South East Asia. Airliners can consider flights to Singapore, Bangkok etc VIA Guwahati. This will attract many tourists on regular basis. Plus there can be connection to Bangladesh as well. 4. There are very limited flight services to West Bengal. Many people will take Guwahati route, as an alternate option. Thereby increasing the numbers of travelers. Once direct flight connection is set-up, within 6-8 months, airlines will see huge numbers of people using this direct flight between Dubai and Guwahati.

Good initiative. Only possible if Airlines co. does not have to bear loss in this sector if direct flight is introduced. Is it possible to get some valid data ( e.g. avg monthly international passengers flying from guwahati) to support and strengthen this petition.
