The DSM-5 states that in order for someone to be a pedophile, they must be at least ages 16 and over, and the target of sexual attraction would have to be 11. Yet, it is said that pedophilia can begin during pre-adolescence or during puberty. So that would logically mean a pedophile can be anyone who’s around the ages of 14 or even younger. Why do pedophiles only have to be 16 then, and why do they have to be 5 years older than the target just to have a diagnosis of the condition? Realistically, a pedophile can be identified way earlier before 16.

Getting rid of the separate diagnosis of Asperger’s syndrome and combining it with ASD has been problematic with not only getting help and care for my husband, but for friends of mine and children of friends. This lack of care and getting a proper diagnosis sooner has made it very difficult for my husband since his last adolescent evaluation (same year as the DSM-5 publication), as he struggled in school, college, and now as an adult. With the potential for up to 52% of children and adults not meeting the new criteria for ASD as a whole, while they meet the previous criteria for a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome, so many lives will be negatively affected by not only not being diagnosed and getting help, but having people disbelieve their diagnosis of level 1 autism (if they even meet that criteria) because they “don’t look or seem autistic”.
Removing Asperger’s Syndrome from the DSM has been damaging to the lives of those who have it, as well as their families who love them and want the best for them. I urge you to please reverse this trend and return the diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome back into the DSM. Thank you for your time.

I was illegally baker acted by the state of Florida by an abusive partner. He abused and exploited me in many ways. When things finally came to a breaking point, he was able to get me pink slipped. Several months before he had seen by a psychiatrist. This man had me put on Vyvanse. He told me that auditory hallucinations were normal and that " they could only be as loud as the loudest noise in the room" It only made things worse. Growing up gay in the south brought a great deal of sadness and abuse into my life. I found cognitive therapy and empathy to be far more beneficial. These experiences were educational and traumatic. I feel like the system traps the sufferers more than it helps long term. It also seems to make people with drug issues who have been put on a hold bitter and vengeful. Too many people have been manipulated Into this system by vindictive narcissistic types. I was one of them.

I believe that there is no place for pharmaceutical companies, government officials and religious groups to continuously influence the progression of scientific studies and their own biased beliefs of what is society's best interests. The study of men Al health is not meant to be an area in which some merely get rich through the exploitation of certain individuals gullibility or unawareness of the decision that a hand full of individuals make as a false sense of being in the benefit of others interests and well-being.

I am doing a question about "whether psychological disorders are real or not" -- after listening to the lectures and doing personal readings, I am greatly convinced that there needs to be a revolution behind how we view mental health problems in the lens of diagnostic psychiatry, that is constantly and powerfully promulgated by the DSM and other large companies that ensure its continuity.

The problem with the DSM5 psychiatric diagnostic criteria is that it expands the scope of diagnosis and potentially increases the amount of drug prescriptions. If the DSM4 had been used properly in the first place, the current surge in depression and inappropriate use of antidepressants could have been prevented.
It is inappropriate to use the DSM5 for diagnosis because the autism spectrogram, which is diagnosed as a developmental disorder simply because of the fact that the diagnosis has been changed to neurodevelopmental disorder in the DSM5, has been linked to the inappropriate prescription of sleeping pills and psychotropic drugs.
The DSM5 somatic spectrogram is just as problematic as the autism spectrogram and should not be used for diagnosis.
This is because the DSM5 somatic spectrogram does not treat people with DSD, or hermaphrodites, as human beings and does not classify them by their biological sex, or sex.
While it is good that the DSM5 removes sexual orientation as a criterion for GID diagnosis, changing the name of GID to GD does not reflect the pain of GID patients who wish to have gender reassignment surgery. The self ID method of changing the name of GID to GD is a policy that deprives cisgender women of women-only space under the guise of consideration for GD, and it is a false diagnostic criterion that also reinforces hatred of GID. Because of the surgical and appearance requirements of the Special Law for Gender Identity Disorder, GID patients can undergo gender reassignment surgery as treatment without being punished by doctors under the former Eugenic Protection Law and the current Maternal Protection Law. Therefore, the WHO's change of diagnosis and DSM5, which states that GID is not a disability, is wrong.

The DSM is used, in part, to coercively control.
