We, the undersigned, members of Damascus Sports Association (DSA) and Damascus community, petition the DSA Board of Directors to disclose in detail why Phil Chapin was removed from coaching football and suspended for a one year period. Phil Chapin was selected as Head Coach for the DSA American 11-13 football team by the Coaches Screening Committee. Coach Chapin had no formal complaints against him and had the best evaluation score of any coach at any level in DSA. An appeal was filed against Coach Chapin being head coach with no reason given for the appeal. Coach Chapin did everything he was supposed to do within the rules and guidelines. Although there were no violations of policy and procedures found, the board upheld the appeal, removed Phil Chapin as coach and suspended him for one year. We are petitioning the Board because there is no basis for the removal and suspension of Coach Chapin and we, as members of DSA, would like full disclosure by the Board for the actions taken by the Board and the justification and reasoning for the removal and suspension of Coach Chapin.
