Workers in critical positions where the safety of the public is dependent upon their good judgement are subjected to routine testing for drug and substance abuse. Our government perform the most critical of duties, where their decisions, sobriety and sound judgement affect us all. I propose that all MPs be subjected to regular hair-follicle testing for illegal substances. Technology to ensure this is now cheap and widely available. Those failing such tests are to be immediately dismissed and the constituencies they represent allowed a by-election within thirty days.
