But we don't wish for them to Fight over the privilege) wear a 'Dick Wessling / No Quarter Wave' T-Shirt to Commerate Dick Wessling , Who was arguably the Finest Telescope Maker of his time. Dick Wessling passed away in 2010. The 'No Quarter wave' T-Shirt referes to the Fact that although a quarter Wave optical surface was/is the Standard for Telescope mirrors, It was NOT NEARLY GOOD ENOUGH for Dick Wessling. Dick Wessling began making telescope mirrors in 1965, Worked for 3M Optical and retired early to devote his full attention to the art of creating superb telescope mirrors. Dick hand figured every primary mirror he sold. The quality of these mirrors is truly breathtaking, providing pin point star images. It is fair to say that the performance of his mirrors may be equaled but not exceeded. So to 'The Big Bang Theory', a Truly humble request in memorandum of Dick Wessling, who was as talented an Artist in Glass, as you are artists in the theater.
