It's time for a change in Utah. Those of you that live outside of this state may not know it, but the local NBC affiliate here, KSL, routinely bans television shows for portraying ideas that go against their religious beliefs. The latest target is Days of Our Lives, because there is a gay story line on this show. Apparently being gay is unacceptable to show during 'prime time' or 'daytime' television, it's only appropriate 'after hours' so they will air it at 1:00am. Yes, this is 2013 and believe it or not, while the rest of the nation is becoming more open-minded and accepting of the variety of cultures in this nation and many states are passing laws to allow the marriage of same sex couples, here in Utah it is the opposite. This same station also banned "The New Normal". NBC seems to have no problem with this local affiliate spewing bigotry by way of their actions, as NBC has not dropped their association with this channel. This needs to happen. Please sign this petition to tell NBC and their advertisers it's not okay to be a bigot and they should send a strong message to KSL in Salt Lake City, UT by dropping their affiliation with this channel!
