Countries with a drinking age of 18 view alcohol as a social drink. The U.S. on the other hand sees alcohol as a "party favor." Many drink to get drunk or to party. Lowering the drinking age will hopefully change the way society views alcohol here in the U.S.

I have been reading the comments here and it is clear that many of you share my frustration with how we treat alcohol in this country. We need to move toward a culture of moderation instead of hiding behind outdated laws that only encourage dangerous habits.

Seeing this level of support grow makes me feel like we might actually shift how our country teaches young adults to respect alcohol. It is incredible to watch so many people agree that the current approach is failing us.

it’s already happening anyway. kids are just drinking in basements where it’s unsafe. let’s just be realistic for once.

If i can go to war and die for this country i should be allowed to grab a beer at the bar. makes zero sense logic wise.
