Punish the boys for being perverts, not the girls for being pretty.

I agree with this. I think that the state and/ or district are very sexist with the new dress code. When the guys only have one of two rules the girls should too.

I'm 5'11 and 13 my legs are really long and it's really hard to find shorts that a cute, and that are long enough. I got dress coded because my jeans looked like leggings and my butt looked big. I got dress coded because my bra strap showed a little. it's stupid and annoying. it's to hot to wear jeans, and long shirts to what are we supposed to wear.

There needs to be a standard these girls hold themselves to when it comes to the length of their shorts, I agree...but dress codes have always been unrealistic to me. We had one when I was in school, and being 5'11 at 15, you can imagine I got coded. They didn't hardly make shorts back then for girls that size and age, so all their "code" did was force me to wear shorts I could have pulled from my grandmother's closet, or maybe I could pick up some shorts from the young men's section, boy was I lucky. I looked awesome! HA! Let up on the rules a bit and focus on the educational system. That's what these kids really need.

i can't even wear nike shorts without getting dresscoded!! guys can have their pants hanging down to their butts, but we can't even wear shorts or leggings have to pass our knees?? if wearing leggings, shirts should just have to cover your butt..

Each child's parent has to pay more money every year to to buy extra close that fulfill Leander ISD guidelines. After school and on weekends others see them in their "preferred" clothing. I don't think it will be a distraction to the education of our children. LISD parent!
