I just spent the last hour reading through all the stories you guys are posting about John Black and honestly it feels like we are all grieving the same loss already even though he is still on screen. It is just so wild how one character can mean so much to so many different people across so many decades because my living room felt exactly like yours growing up and I really hope the producers realize they are messing with something sacred here.

PLEASE keep him on air! i grew up watching him and it really wouldnt be the same show at all.
Days will not be worth watching without John Black. He is the heart of the show and you guys would be crazy to let him go.
