Having any Voter as part of the Electoral College for the Election of the President of India

President’s election is due and would be held within about two month’s time. Several names including Dr. A. P. J. Kalam, Shri M. Hamid Ansari, Shri P. A. Sangma, Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav, Shri Shivraj Patil, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Ms. Meira Kumar are running amongst the different political parties, for consideration.

The country is passing through a situation, when several large-size scams have been exposed; allegation of the paralysis of the Government is in public debate; administration of military is also under public scrutiny, the issues of Lokpal Bill and large scale Indian Black Money in abroad are in serious public debate. Most unfortunately these situations have been developed during the tenure when a most honest Prime Minister is the head of the Government.

The current scenario demands that the Presidential candidate should be such, whose integrity, honesty, sincerity is above even a figmentation of any doubt, and above any iota of affiliation with any political party, and who should be able to take oath not just by way of ceremony, rather with his heart and mind completely adhered with all its credence to discharge the function of the President in true spirit of the terms of Article 60 of the Constitution of India. Obviously, out of the aforesaid names, the name of former President of India Dr. A. P. J. Kalam, tops them all, as the people of India have already experienced with his one tenure as President of India, and found as a most impartial arbiter who has the capacity to transcend the divides of partition politics, which is the very spirit of our Constitution. As such needless to say that he has all the qualifications that deserves in a person holding such high office of the Democratic Indian Republic.  

We the undersigned humbly request every Political Party in India, representing in the Electoral College for the Election of the President of India, forgetting their own political purposes and reasons in the best interest of the Constitution of India and well being of the citizenry, again should nominate the name of Dr. A. P. J. Kalam, as consensus candidate for the office of the next President of India.
