This petition will ask them to STOP reporting on Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan during their headlining news segments. These women are not news. These women are not newsworthy. They are simply celebrities who have risen to fame via controversy, are without measurable talent, have broken the law repeatedly, and have gotten off easy. When we watch the news or read the news or hear the news, we want no more of them. No more stories about DUIs or crashed cars or shortened jail sentences. Entertainment news can be easily sought out through various channels - special television programming, certain sections of newspapers, and blog upon blog upon blog. It is not vital to our existence to hear stories about these women, nor is it important for our growth as individuals, as a society, or as a country. In fact, it is likely a hindrance. Like Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, we are asking that you simply DO NOT report stories about Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Lindsay Lohan during your headlining news segments. We want news, not garbage. JUST STOP.
