The best part of the Blue Plum was the location; downtown Johnson City was the perfect place. I will NOT be going to the Plum this year but I would/will go to anything the Johnson City Downtown Merchants Association can put together!

I live walking distance from where they hold the blue plum each year. I look forward to it every year. They should never change the location of the blue plim festival. The streets of downtown Johnson city is a perfect location.

The Blue Plum Festival celebrates downtown Johnson City and its merchants and should be held in the city streets! Some events charging fees in Founders Park and elsewhere are okay with me, but we have enough local musicians to celebrate with that folks should also have free music. Also, city buildings offer shade that is missing in Founders Park.

My understanding of the decision to relocate is that there was no discussion or involvement of many if not most of the people responsible for making and growing Blue Plum into the successful festival it now is. When I heard of the move, I immediately recognized the decision as a mistake. Later, after hearing from several downtown business owners and former BP sponsors, I knew that initial reaction was spot on. Viva la Plum!

The wonderful folks downtown deserve to keep the profits they receive from the amazing festival they started. They know their customers by name, they know what your favorite order is, and they know what keeps their customers coming back. Keep downtown Johnson City alive!!
