Unbelievable!! Sell off parking lots and now charge property owners. I am so done with short term decisions made by people who have no clue what it means to own/run a small business.

Business owners have been hit enough. The towns mismanagement (prior council) shouldn't be paid for by taxpayers

As a business owner of a small shop downtown Midland and trying to float from month to month as the economy is getting harder for people having any extra income to shop after being able to pay their bills. We are also your everyday people trying to make money to pay our bills like everyone else. Adding any extra cost will affect our survival of keeping our businesses open. The town of Midland did not listen to the people, telling them that the paid parking meters will not benefit this small town. It would only make it worst. We the people were correct!! Therefore let the ones who went ahead getting the meters pay for the meters. Not the downtown business owners, building owners or any tax payers in Midland whom all were all against it. This is criminal wanting us to pay for their huge mistake!

Give them a break. If you keep taxing the businesses they won’t stay and you won’t have any revenue. Nobody will want to start a business downtown.

Keeping parking free will reduce the frustration of overwhelming ticket fines downtown, will help boost the economy and remove that lingering fear of going over their meter!

I am able to provide all my tenants and my customers free parking in my property that I already pay taxes in. I should not be levied for someone palling and going for a walk on the Main Street.

Our local businesses have suffered enough. They should not have to pay extra taxes for parking.

This is disgusting. Trying to make businesses pay for a failed project that they didn’t ask for.

The downtown merchants need the support of our community shopping and supporting our businesses.

Constantly costing downtown businesses is absolutely ridiculous! When does it end???

Property owners already paying high taxes in the downtown. Even renters end up paying this, as it gets passed on. If Midland wants to kill downtown businesses, I guess that’s the way to go. If they wish to support a vibrant downtown, then it’s a ludicrous proposition.

I would like to see dedicated spots behind our business for our customers.

Downtown businesses shouldn't have to pay for the town's mistake. Most of the people that park behind our store are going to the MCC, doesn't really benefit us, we shouldn't have to pay for it.

The parking meter debt is not a result of any decision made by any business owner nor by the BIA. Business and or building owners should not be responsible for the debt incurred by bad decisions and research

Downtown businesses are suffereing economically do to Covid related new buying patterns, Covid related debts, increased mortgage costs and increased supply costs. Adding a new tax will only further hurt these small businesses even further. We already have a number of vacant buildings on King Street and I would suggest that the Town should be doing all they can to encourage economic prosperty to encourage business to remain open. The entire town of Midland benefits from a prosperous and vibrant core, as such the cost should be bourne by all.
