We, the undersigned, demand the removal of all traffic cameras in The City of New Orleans, Orleans Parish for the following reasons: 1) The City of New Orleans refuses to administer the fines in a fair and legal fashion. A.City of New Orleans employees will not be required to pay traffic camera fines. B. There is no appeals process in place 2) The fines are unconstitutional because there is no proof of, and no identification of the driver at the time of the supposed violation. A. Traffic cameras only photograph the exterior of the vehicle with a focus on the license plate. B. Traffic cameras do not photograph the driver of the vehicle 3) The City of New Orleans has lowered the speed limits on certain streets, or portions of streets simply to increase the number of tickets issued. 4) The City of New Orleans administered the fines in an illegal manner in the past, as decided by the State Supreme Court, yet, the City of New Orleans is still demanding payment of these illegally assessed fines.
