Gentrification-the process of renovating and improving a house or district so that it conforms to middle-class taste. In West Town Chicago hundreds of lower class families were kicked out because landlords were increasing to 100+ dollars on rent and the families are being displaced into my dangerous and new communities. And the solution to this if we hit 1,000 we can start a neighborhood organization forFamilies who are losing their homes to Middle class (millennials). Millennial-a person reaching young adulthood in the early 21st century.

my rent went up 300 bucks in one month they just want us out its not fair how they push out people who been here decades just for some fancy coffee shops and ugly glass buildings

Gentrification displaces working class families of all creeds, it eradicates affordable housing, it kills cultural identity of small neighborhoods and artistic enclaves, leaving lower-mid income families to move further west or south into the next neighborhood where gentrification will continue 10 years down the line. A viscous cycle…. condos for half a million or a single family, 5 bedroom mansion home for a million? These are our current options for those living west town. . Most people living and working cannot afford these options, so why is that all that’s being built?
