Objection to Application under Section 42 of the Town & Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 to remove Condition 1 of planning permission 08/00189/DET
On the 17th June 2014 planning permission will lapse for house to be built on one of the most historically significant castle conservation areas in Scotland. Castle Road is part of the conservation area of Doune castle (built for the Regent Albany, Doune Castle is a magnificent late 14th century courtyard castle). Today this area is a significant asset to the Doune community bringing in welcome visitors, tourists and film makers who support local businesses and the local economy. Doune castle will be familiar to some from Monty Python's Holy Grail, more recently it has been a location for Game of Thrones and it plays the part of Castle Leoch (seat of the Clan MacKenzie) in the soon to be broadcast Outlander (Diana Gabaldon) series.
