  1. We believe that the skatepark being built on Douglas promenade needs to be designed to be respectful to the heritage of the sunken gardens but to be elevated with skateable features like other skate friendly cities have created like the following iconic spots : Macba, Palais De Tokyo



Skateboarding thrives in the streets as this is where we are able to use our creative expression to interpret the landscape in a way that it was never intended and create our own artistic expression and animate the landscape. The pump track design is limiting the creativity of skateboarders and is quite restrictive. The demographic being targeted with the pump track is under 13s, but the purpose of having a skatepark was to target the teenagers and older people who are often missed in public developments.



We should look to create a space which stems from the core values of skateboarding and with this in mind we need to create a space which allows for creativity, and freedom.
