Heritage and history is an important part in any nations culture. Once gone, is lost forever. Many of the islands unique features include the likes of the horsetram. I suggest the IOM Gov ask the public for ideas and suggestions as to how this can be kept running. The IOM Govt can find other ways to manage costs.

Unbelievable act of treachery by the soon to be briefly appointed council members. You will never be allowed to forget this decision if it isn't reversed.

The tram is an enjoyable tradition and part of what makes a holiday in the Isle of Man special and different.

Well it's a very sad day for the IOM if they let such a very nice and unique thing go! I always enjoy a ride down the front and the banter from the tram drivers! Would be a sin to see them go! IOM will be loose a great thing! :(

Share the cost island wide, but can't loose it cos there's no getting it back once it's gone.

Scrapping the horse trams is like putting a great big neon light over the island saying we are closed for tourism. It will have an effect on the local economy. They should be run by the government as a living museum.

Please keep the horse trams
The prom won't be the same without them
What next the trams and steam railways?!

Shocked and disappointed. As a former driver and conductor during my student days in the 1970s, I have fond memories of the trams. Once again another piece of the Island's heritage and part of the tourist infrastructure dispensed with on a pure number crunching decision.

This is an integral part of Manx Heritage and we are proud if it. Any new promenade scheme should make this unique transport a centrepiece rather than scrapping what I believe is the only horse tram service left in the world!

The horse trams are more than just an attraction. It makes us unique and welcoming and it is just too convenient to close it to save a bit of cash

The loss of this gem is not only a massive economic loss to the island for tourism, but equally missing huge potential in achieving a true green park and ride scheme and removing vehicle congestion from the pome aide.
