The students should be commended for their creative actions in support of human rights. Their institutions should be supporting them not censoring them.

Schande! Opkomen voor de verdrukten en onderworpenen is van waarde, altijd, overal. Dubbele standaarden zijn een teken van zwakte, altijd, overal. Kritiek op Israël gelijkstellen met antisemitisme gaat voorbij aan de bezorgde joden die tegen de bezetting strijden. Palestijnen wonen in hun land niet in hun koffer en ze willen niet op reis. Doen alsof kunst en politiek niets met elkaar te maken hebben maken het instituut belachelijk en de leiding verdacht. Oproepen tot stoppen met etnische zuiveringen en opkomen voor gediscrimineerde burgers is een menselijke plicht. U zou trots op deze studenten moeten zijn!
Ga aan de goede kant van de geschiedenis staan, verdiep, ontwikkel, groei en doe niet aan selectieve verontwaardiging het instituut onwaardig.

Vrije kunsten, vrije meningen: what's the difference?!
Although this doesn’t surprise me at all. During my time studying at the WdkA, the academy has always practiced a form of opt-in-at-when-its-convenient politics, but this censorship makes me want to burn my diploma. So called neutrality is ALWAYS simply a political statement in favour of the status quo. From employing racial capitalism in their advertising campaigns to adopting all sorts of anti-oppression education, while cherry picking which issues can actually get a platform within the school, WdkA has consistently shown to be inapt at following the philosophy it teaches. I sincerely hope the academy uses this opportunity to actually create a space for constructive artistic and political discussion and practice instead of just the outward appearance of one. Until that happens I can only say I am ashamed to have been part of an institution that quietly endorses settler colonialism, apartheid and state sanctioned ethnic-cleansing.
