We are asking for our dosage calculation class to be graded on a curve or for those failing the course and/or those who wish to retake the course to be allowed to do so with a different instructor at a later time. Throughout this course, we the students feel that the instructor did not do her duty of teaching the material in manner that the majority of the students could understand. In fact, some students, who reviewed the material beforehand and felt comfortable with it were more perplex after the instructor went over it in class.

Listed below are some of many reasons why we deserve to get a curve or be able to retake the class with a quality instructor:

1) The instructor did not teach math in a simple form as she did during the review today, minutes before the final exams.
2) Each time we informed her that we did not understand the topic and to better explain it, her response was, "Well, I don't have enough time to go over it again, and it will be on your test."
3) She gave incorrect instructions on how to work out problems on our quizzes and tests, then penalized us for following her direction.
4) She stated in class that she knows how to do nursing math but she doesn't really know how to teach it well.
5) Instructions on how to complete the test and quizzes were not clear and at times were omitted.
6) She could not take control of the class. Distractions were common, which prevented others from focusing.
7) When distractions occurred during exams or quizzes preventing students to concentrate, no extra time was given to make up for the time lost.
8) She did not review test material after a test was taken. She also did not hand out tested material in a timely manner to help students review before they moved on to new material.
9) Quizzes and Exams were not timed accordingly, especially the 4th exam.
10) Many students had to seek help from other instructors because they did not feel comfortable going to the math instructor due initial confusion in class.

Please consider our pea to resolve this issue as our education is very important to us and we have invested much time, energy and money in order to receive a quality education in Nursing.
