The situation with parking at present within Dormans Close is deteriorating rapidly during the school run. Between the hours of 3pm & 5pm the close is overrun with a constant stream of vehicles driven by parents collecting their children from the local school on Maxwell Road. The behavior of these drivers varies from inconsiderate to illegal and when challenged they are often rude and abusive. The current parking scheme is completely ineffective to fight this problem and the restrictions which are currently in place offer no protection for the residents, the only solution to this is to request the council to amend the current scheme. The proposals are as follows: 1. To amend the current parking scheme to restrictions during the following times 8am-9am and again at 2pm-5pm. 2. Make the close a residents only zone. The 'residents only' option appears to be the most effective long term solution as this prevents the same problem occurring during school productions and parents evenings which go on until late in the evening. This does however force residents into applying for a residents parking permit for their vehicles, which is free from Hillingdon council for the first vehicle. I believe this is a small inconvenience compared to the current situation.
