Without Orange Wednesdays, it's cheaper to buy the DVD (by a long way!) than for 2 people to go to the cinema - why would I go anymore? This could be the beginning of the end for cinema

At a time when cinema audiences are dwindling, in part due to the cost of going to the cinema, it seems shortsighted to remove an offer that encourages people to go. When did you last see an empty screen on a Wednesday?

I've been with Orange for nearly 20 years, and have always stayed loyal to them. When they introduced the Orange Wednesdays scheme, I thought it was a brilliant idea - a marketing gimmick maybe, but it also encouraged a lot more people along to the cinema, and gave many folks the chance to have a positive midweek experience that otherwise they would simply be unable to afford. We all know how ludicrously extortionate cinema tickets can be these days, and this tends to exclude a lot of normal people who just can't afford to budget for regular movie trips as well as feeding & clothing their family. But Orange Wednesdays was a great idea, encouraging thousands more people to enjoy the cinema every week, and - importantly - to get together and do this as a pair, or in a group. I know many families who have used this offer on a regular / weekly basis too take their kids to see films, which they'd otherwise not have bothered with. It has been a fantastic scheme for 12 years now, and I really can't understand why the powers-that-be at Orange / EE are scrapping it. Since EE have taken over Orange, ONLY bad things have been happening. My phone signal has gone noticeably downhill, and every other Orange customer I know has complained of the same. I never wanted to be a part of EE, I was signed up with Orange and that's who I wanted my contract to be with. Now that EE are essentially in charge of Orange, things have been changing (for the worse month by month. I never asked to be swept up by EE, and it's hugely annoying that they are making so many negative changes. ALSO - I notice that new EE cusomters get certain perks like free calls / texts while overseas?… So Orange customers are getting thing taken away, but none of the perks of their 'parent' company EE!!!

Seriously annoyed about this, chose to go on orange because of 241 and now they are changing it! If they change it to streaming media, that'll annoy me even more. I like going to the cinema to get out the house! Certainly not staying with orange longer than I have to.
