I hate to be the bearer of bad news Jeanine, but there are no such things as Latinx people.I'm mean seriously,do you really think that anyone from Latin America would be identifying themselves using this absurd and identity-politic contrived term(Which as a friend of mine said, sounds like the name of some sort of medication to relieve constipation)?

As if people from Latin America can't be White?Tell me Marisela where are you getting your insights regarding the racial demographics of that ethnolingustic region from? The grafitti spray painted on the back of the dumpster of your local Del Taco or Daddy Yankee's latest album perhaps?PS:The only problem are anthropologically illiterate individuals like yourself that are clueless enough to believe that La Tee Noh is a race.Do yourself a favor Marisela and conduct some cursory research online and maybe then you'll learn about all the Europeans(Spaniards,French,Corsicans,Irish etc.)that immigrated to Puerto Rico(As well as Cuba, the Dominican Republic and South and Central America) and won't make such laughably ignorant statements in the future!

Ano...tell that to the writers/producers/directors of the new "SUPERGIRL" TV series...they just happened to "blackwash" Jimmy Olson who in the original "SUPERMAN" was a generic white guy, but has been turned into the all-knowing negro in the office, who the idiot white women in the office just can't stop worshipping everytime he farts...

Ariel...I think it is time to go back to the 5th grade and listen very intently during the part where the "races of man" are discussed...NEVER, NEVER, NEVER has "hispanic/latino" EVER been a race...only in the US do you hear that stupidity...or you can just go back to Starbucks for your Latino-Latte...SMH

Marisela...I knew you would contribute nothing more than a "pila de mierda" when you used "LatinX"...
C'mon...get off your 3-legged, blind unicorn and get real. "Latino" or its idiot in the attic bastard sister "LatinX" is total BS...Do you think that ANYONE of the 100s of MILLIONS of REAL Hispanic-cultured people in all of Latin America are going to start calling themselves by this bogus label created by a bunch of 3rd-rate, faux-academic, charlatan "acompleja'os" in the US? Really?
And your not so "oblique" reference to all Hispanic-cultured people as "brown" is truly outrageous. Is "Latino" now a race?
NEWSFLASH...IT HAS NEVER BEEN!!!
Time to shut your "LatinX" Latte-hole and take a breath from inhaling the stupidity that you have obviously so voraciously inhaled with gusto...SMH

Actions are what determines whether someone can actually call themselves an ally of a cultural community. And Sierra is demonstrating that she is indeed not an ally of the Latinx community. It boggles my mind that people understand that blackface is wrong, but somehow those same individuals do mental gymnastics to ignore how wrong brownface is. Do not appropriate culture that is not your own. There are very few roles for Latinas as it is and sooooo many roles for White women. Step away from this project. Demonstrate that you won't be part of the problem.

This is appalling for any time period but especially 2018, in the midst of a movement that has picked up quite a bit of speed pushing for representation and accurate portrayals of minorities. How or why this crossed so many desks and got the OK is ridiculous. Sierra Boggess is incredibly talented but this is not her story to tell.

This is not her story to tell. There are many actresses who could bring truth and authenticity to this wonderful role. Not having a LatinX actress in this role is insensitive and Lazy. It’s 2018 and why don’t you get it’s wrong and flat out offensive.

There's no excuse for this. There are plenty of Latinas who can do it. Need a recommendation? Feel free to ask me. Not famous enough? Then make her famous by casting her. This is shameful.

It’s pretty ludicrous that she’s choosing to do a role she knows she’s totally miscast I’m so why not step aside and let an actual Puerto Rican actress play it the way it actually is meant to be played? We won’t forget what she has done if she goes forward with it. Is she going to do brown face too?

It doesn’t matter if it is a concert, a main stage, or a production the local alley way, representation matters. Shame on everyone from the lazy casting/production team that put her on the shortlist, Sierra’s team and herself for accepting. It is not that hard to type out a casting call notice for the correct type. They do it for their stories and make it perfectly clear that POCs are not wanted for their productions (ala “Bright Star” and numerous others) so why can they respect that same idea for WSS. Representation matters. Her complicity will certainly follow her and will not be forgotten.
