Don't Spot Rezone Oakwood Avenue Lots

My property abuts the rear of this property. The builder and his attorney have not been truthful about the nature of the property. They say the buildings were abandoned, but there were 2 rental houses in fine shape <1 year ago. Many, many high density properties are going up in town. We do not need another one. Hold the builder to the current zoning. A smaller, 20-unit building is an appropriate size for the property. Thank you.

Some things don't change - for years this and other cities have allowed buildings, retail, mansions, and even rumble strips to be placed where they definitely don't belong. Our city council usually behaves in a very intelligent and professional manner but sometimes they fall into a pot hole - this is one of those times.

Oakwood is one of the nicest residential streets with a friendly neighborhood feel so close to town and train Let's keep it that way.

Zoning laws were established for a reason, and if we change them indiscriminately, we may as well not have any in the first place.

The builder would never put a building up in or close to his home. Don't let him build it next to my home.

As a long time resident of HP, I have come to expect great things from our City Council. Keeping our community as originally zoned, and for the good reasons we did that zoning, is important in preserving our unique North Shore identity. Our city is a model to others. We MUST keep this area as RM1 to ensure we stay "as intended" and the legacy continues for new generations.

I hope you will consider the neighbors and the neighborhood and keep the zoning to RM1 standards.
