Don’t rezone our kids!!

My kids have been going to that school since we moved into Longleaf. Two of my kids are already garenteed spots but one of my kids are waiting to see if they have to go to river ridge. I’d hate to see my kids split up.

Please don’t rezone is from our schools to schools that we don’t know, with people that we don’t know. We want to stay at our schools that we have been zoned in for over 2 decades. We all want to stay with our friends and teams and classmates. If we get rezoned, we will have none of that.

I have a large, blended family with a complicated schedule. As a result we have relied on the YMCA for before and aftercare. If we are rezoned this will be just another disrumption to my children. Please consider how much this impacts our families.

Mr. Browning I say no to the rezone. It looks like to me you do not care about these children needs. This must stop!

I hope the school board council seriously considers how stressful this has been on the children. It breaks my heart to hear them talk about losing there friends.

My son started his life out in foster care in his short 12 years he’s moved 5 times and 5 schools including moving from SSMS to RRMS back to SSMS, this is causing him a lot of stress. He’s a great kid he has been on the Honor Roll and Principals list since 2nd grade. He has a couple medical conditions and we are more comfortable with him being at SSMS because it’s less than 2 miles from our front door as opposed to the 8 miles away to RRMS. My wife and I have been therapuetic foster parents for 17 years. Our current foster is in private school because he couldn’t fit in at RRMS. He has mental health issues as well as heart problems, he’s has had 3 open hear surgeries. My wife spends a lot of time taking him to appointments and I work 2 hours away from home. It would be so much easier to keep our own son at SSMS. He has transportation and I have him in the YMCA after school which is directly behind SSMS, if he is rezoned he will have no after school care. My wife has night blindness and can’t drive at night which would leave our son out of any after school activities if he is at RRMS. We bought into our neighborhood for the schools and the convenience of the proximity of the school SSMS. My son has been traumatized enough with all these moves. If you can’t see fit to leave our neighborhood at SSMS I don’t know what we will do, most likely be forced to sell our home leave the neighborhood we love and our son will be forced to leave the only home he’s ever been comfortable in.

Words cannot express how much of a toll these past 2 years of rezoning the Longleaf neighborhood has taken on my children’s innocence. They have been closely paying attention to the craziness that has plagued our community. It has caused them so much stress and anxiety. My insides hurt because i know that their fate is in the hands of Kurt Browning and he has proven time and time again how little he cares for the children of the Longleaf Community.

I am a future marching mustang and I want to keep it that way and all my friends are in the school I am going to currently and I do not want to be rezoned.

I would never like to be rezoned from the school of my choice, for that would mean the loss of great friends and relationships and once in a lifetime opportunities that could only be offered by the school of JW Mitchell. I am a member of the band program at seven springs and have been for the past 3 years and I would hate to make a transition from the perfect band to somewhere else.

I truly believe that students should not be disrupted during such a crucial time in their lives. My vote is to allow students to remain at their schools so they can focus on more important matters such as service, extra curricular activities and academics.

I am incredibly disappointed in the elected school board officials who seem content with tearing the Longleaf Community apart.

My three children attend these schools. We are not affected by this rezoning but I can tell you there is a lot of talk between the children. They have several friends that might not be here next year. Why? For what reason? This is very sad I hope the school board stops this insanity!

Don’t rezone our kids from JW Mitchell high school and Seven Springs middle school.

Without having the YMCA near my childrens school puts my family in a very stressful time. I wonder if Kurt Browning have any idea what he’s doing to all of us.
