We have witnessed firsthand the widespread distrust and fear bred among the families in our community due to the 287g program, and we know that your office's continued participation in it will lamentably exacerbate this trend.
We, the undersigned, are asking that the Collier County Sheriff, Kevin Rambosk, not renew the 287g agreement.
En octubre, el departamento de policia del Condado de Collier tiene la opción de renovar el acuerdo que tiene con el Departmento de Seguridad Nacional (DHS). Este acuerdo le permite a ciertos oficiales policiácos actuar como agentes de inmigración.
Hemos sido testigos de primera mano de la desconfianza y miedo que existe en las famillias de nuestra comunidad por el hecho de tener el programa 287g. Sabemos que la participación de su oficina está agravando la tendencia que ya existe.
Le estamos solicitando al Sheriff del Condado de Collier, Kevin Rambosk, que no renueve el acuerdo 287g.

Police should focus on real crime not tearing apart families. End the program!
Get ICE out of our local police force. We dont need this.
STOP THE 287G AGREEMENT NOW. It creates so much fear in our town.
My neighbors are scared to leave their houses. This isnt right for Collier County.
People are afraid to call 911 when they need help because they think they will get deported. This makes everyone less safe.
Let the anti-American agreement DIE!

This act encourages racial profiling. The goal is to make our community feel safer however it is contradictory. It is definitely not making the Hispanic population feel safe since they can be discriminized if the "look like an immigrant"
