Knees arouse me x

My daughter and some of her friends were told by a woman supply teacher that their skirts were 'indecent'. What year are we living in? What message are they giving to our teenagers? Their bodies are not indecent they can't help being attractive and have the right to feel attractive without judgement. My daughter wears an approved school skirt that fits her waist. Even if she wanted to wear a skirt above the knee - so what?

if you're sexualising the knees of girls in a school environment aged between 11-16, clearly we're not the problem, and you are. Boys can wear shorts above the knee, but yet if we do it its 'provocative'? We're not letting this double standard go any more

I would completely sympathise with the school if we had all altered or physically changed our skirts so they fit our bodies. But I don’t know of any people that have done this and it’s certainly the majority- whY is the entire population of girls in CVC being targeted for something that only very few actually do..? Additionally the skirts fit different people in different ways - I myself find that my skirt almost falls off me and I have the 2nd longest skirt. If I am made to buy the size up it will fall off me. Some solutions need to be put in place and soon because this is simpley unfair to expect us to buy new and unfitting (not forgetting how expensive the uniform is) skirts that reach our knees or over- it is no longer the Victorian era , knees are not some socially disgusting thing. I appreciate that if skirts are ridiculously short then maybe a select number of students should be taken aside and POLITELY asked to get a longer skirt when possible but going round form rooms and publicly calling out people for “inappropriate” uniform is humiliating for the students. Mr law said recently “If this doesn’t resolve Im quite happy to just make everyone wear shorts and trousers” but however it is felt with some kind of change to the fitting or sizing of the uniform is going to need to happen because girls have very very different body shapes to each other and to boys especially at this age. It’s really unfair to expect one shape of uniform to fit a. Huge. Variety of shapes and sizes- some may even call it body shaming especially if you call someone out for a skirt being too “figure hugging”. People wear the skirts that are provided and are best fitted to them and it’s so so so so disappointing to see an older generation picking on a younger one for trying to keep to the code of conduct. I hope that actions will be put in place and that the students will be given a voice in this matter because otherwise it will simpley never get solved.

This is so stupid, why? 1st-They don’t even provide the knee leangth skirts that they are demanding us to wear. 2nd-they would only notice if they were looking; so who’s sexualising now? 3rd-It’s not even true. 4th-If they did make new skirts then we would all have to buy them and no one has the money to buy pointless things. Are the school going to buy every single girl in the school a skirt. 5th-They should get their commitments right, like GCSE exams. 6th-I don’t think it’s fair to say that all the boys are sexualising, most of them are sensible and won’t get ‘distracted’ by knees. The school aren’t doing very well recently l, TWO features in a newspaper and NOT for good reasons. CVC what can u say, outsmarted by teenagers!

They shouldn’t tell us off if they provide us with skirts that are too short. I have a small waist and skirts that would be knee length would be too big for my waist and not fit me. They should make longer skirts
