I am vehemently apposed to the idea of dumping poison into our already stressed lake when there is a perfectly good solution in place that needs time to take root. Please do not do this!

I grew up fishing this lake as a child and learned to bass fish there. I now live in another state and have to say you have a gem of a lake there. Please take care of it.

You cannot poison our lake. It is our home and our residents and children swim in it. We count the fish, birds and lakeside animals as our extended family. There are other ways to deal with the issues. For example - How about first banning lakeside residents from using chemicals for their lawns? Listen to the people of New Fairfield. Please do NOT do this!

The lake is the only thing that separates this Town from other areas that offer less taxes and more employment opportunities. You ruin the lake and you ruin the future. Once the younger generation leaves, New Fairfield and other towns bordering the lake will be made up primarily of older, aging population.

We are completely against using any dangerous/toxic chemicals, herbicides and algaecides. Only non-toxic alternatives should be considered and used. We have a responsibility to the environment ❗️

Grass carp are proven and safe way to eliminate milfoil. Our Ball Pond grass carp program has been completely successful in eliminating milfoil from Ball Pond. A scientific study reporting these findings is being published this spring in Lake and Reservoir Management. Mark June-Wells is the lead author.
