The Candlewood Lake Authority already has begun a Sterile Grass Carp program to control Eurasian Watermilfoil approved by the 5 town's with grant funding from CT DEEP. This program takes time to ramp up. Another supplemental stocking is planned this Spring. Why is New Fairfield not working with the CLA and the other 4 town's ? Why jeopardize this program? The CLA has already stocked the lake with 3,800 Sterile Grass Carp as part of their ongoing management plan to control milfoil. An additional stocking is planned this Spring . New Fairfield has not consulted with the CLA or other towns, showing a disturbing disregarded for the one agency with the most experience concerning Candlewood Lake. Hiring an outside Herbicide consultant and embarking on treatments with out their input seems short sighted and poorly considered.

Use oher means before chemical treatment. Copersulfate is not the way to go. Did that with my father 51 year's ago in a large pond we had. Fish kill was bad and couldn't swim for two weels. Let look into ultrasonic buouy the Cla is looking at.
