I think its a bad idea. There has got to be a safer way to remove the algae. Lots of people fish the lake.

As an avid fisherman I have quite a few lakes ruined by this treatment. The natural habitat is what it is. Please leave it alone. The amount of money brought into the region by fisherman will be lost and only regret will be left behind. Thank you

Please DO NOT POISON lake candlewood. This lake brings in so much money to Danbury area. Because the fishery is so good. NO pesticides

Please engage the right resources (e.g. DEEP) to ensure that no long term ramifications exist for the application of herbicides.

Candlewood is one of the best fisheries in the Northeast. It's not a swimming pool!!! Keep the poisons out of the lake!!!

By putting in pesticides you will environmentally screw this lake up for years!

So tired of people who want to turn natural lakes and ponds into swimming pools. The same folks are wealthy enough to build a swimming pool in their backyards! This is NOT a swimming pool and it has a natural ecosystem that pesticides do not get introduced by Mother Nature. It's been proven that natural lake drawdowns are the least harmful, address weed growth along the shorelines effectively!

This is absurd. The swimming pool reference is perfect, treat this lake like a lake, not a swimming pool! If you want to swim in a pool then go to the YMCA. Candlewood is a phenomenal natural resource that must be protected. There is no reason for towns to be going rogue to "control" vegetation. Any treatments should only be implemented after buy in has been received from all stakeholders, especially CTDEEP.

I have seen the long-term effects of introducing these types of chemicals into a lake, and they are never positive. There is plenty of lake to swim and enjoy without ruining it for fishermen. Once these chemicals are introduced there is no going back, and the lake will take at least 10 years to recover. This will be a monumental mistake if the plans go through

It is never a good idea to intervene with nature. It rarely produces a positive result.
