there are lots of other ways to bring jobs/economy to the area other than signing a deal with the devil....

LNG needs to takes it money and promises back home to Texas and stay there, LNG is not wanted in BC, especially NOT in our BARLEY SOUND AREA. LNG is not ecology friendly and is unbalancing our climate. TIME TO SHUT IT DOWN AND SEND THEM OUT OF CANADA

I have spent countless days in Bamfield and the surrounding area. Its pristine nature deserves to not be spoiled and maintained in such a way that the traditional uses by the Huu-ay-aht First Nations are not interfered with and this culture can reap the benefits from what is rightfully theirs. Short term economic benefits stand in stark contrast to the long-lasting adverse environmental impacts from building and operations of the Steelhead LNG plant.

I am very concerned about the proposed Steelhead LNG plant in Barkley Sound. Although I understand that there would be short-term economic benefits from a project like this, relying on a single resource as an economic fix-all will not lead to long-term economic stability. In light of increasing international concerns about the stability of fossil fuel investments due to the recognized need to price carbon to limit climate change, this development does not seem like a good long-term economic or ecological decision. The Bamfield-Barkley Sound has amazing natural richness, which benefits all people who live and work in the area; it should be protected.

please consider opposing an LNG terminal on this region of our unique and beautiful coastline. The area is dear to my heart an I can vouch for its value as it is.

I am deeply concerned that an LNG terminal at Sarita Bay will drastically change the environment and culture of the Bamfield / Anacla region – an area I deeply love. I am sure the project will bring some economic benefits, but I do not believe these benefits will be a “fix all” for the regional economy. Additionally, I do not think the environmental and social consequences of the project have been adequately discussed or represented.

NO to LNG !! We need to protect and preserve our land, surrounding waters, wildlife and marine life!

Keeping fossil fuels in the ground is more important than extracting/ exploiting them to save our planet from global warming through the CO2 emissions of burning these fossil fuels.

I share your concern about the huge impacts of fracking and of shipping LNG (liquid natural gas) in very large tankers down our coast.

This should be a no brainer

It's the only environment we have. It should not be for sale wholesale.

The extraction of our natural resources must stop! NOW!! I wish the population would awaken from their slumber and realize the devastation we are leaving for our children and grandchildren! It is ridiculous!

Sarita Bay is a special place inhabited by Huu-ay-aht First Nation people for thousands of years. This proposed LNG Plant has nothing to do with living with the land and will only serve the pocketbooks of a few. In the interest of future generations of all species this is not the kind of footprint we want to leave. No to this LNG Plant.

Now both of our governments, the one in Ottawa and now Christie Clark in BC. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, we will kick them all out.

I personally had the opportunity to experience these areas in an incredibly meaningful and educational context, and also recognize their high value to everyone living in the Bamfield area. The cost of this development is too high for the potential short-term gains. I vote no to the proposed LNG plant at Sarita.
