There is no logic in blocking this application, if you live anywhere regional and want a certain meal or even food items for cooking you have to drive for it. Tesco, Co-op, Butcher Meat, Fresh Fish, Co-op, Fish and Chips, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Da Steak Hoose, come on planning get with the programme !

The planners cannot be serious in blocking this application.

I have seldom heard anything so utterly ridiculous as this reason for refusal. Does this now mean that I am to be discouraged from driving to Lerwick for a meal in the new Steak house, or any of the other establishments? Does it also mean that Mareel should have been refused permission because most of the Shetlan population would have to drive to get there? And, Perish the thought! Some might even need. to take a ferry! My advie to "planning" is to quietly capitulate before they become a laughing stock!

This sounds a wonderful idea and something Shetland needs, more eating places with nice views. Surely it is nonsense for Shetland Islands Council to turn down the application. We would certainly be using this facility.

in my case it's only 34 miles round trip to go to Lerwick it's 74 miles almost every-one in Shetland has to travel

This is so sad you have to rely on everyone's signatures, when all you want to do is bring a little joy to the island, an Italian cooking restaurant would be great up North, I hope you are successful.

Shetland needs a good Italian restaurant. The reasons for refusal are petty.

Would be nice to see the names of the faceless bureaucrats that opposed this project.

Way to go Henry, keep at it, eventually public opinion will persuade a reversal of an idiotic decision.

Unbelievable the local council would stifle someone trying to establish a local business in Shetland in this manner especially on the grounds given ! Utter nonsense to suggest pollution caused by driving two miles to a restaurant is going to have any effect - remote restaurants all over Scotland thrive, and people are drawn to them and their picturesque settings. Of course they drive to get there, it's not like he's planning a helipad (!)

I take a taxi wherever I go to eat, even if it's in town, so don't even bother telling me that my carbon footprint is doing harm by travelling here. Wherever I travel to eat will be by car whether it's the Harbour Café, or the Braewick Café.

lot easier for me to get to the proposed restaurant than to Lerwick . The more choice in the north the better
