Please don't let this happen to Waikiki! Idk how the politicians who ok'd this thought that this would be a good idea for tourists and locals. Taking skilled waterman with years of knowledge away And replacing with kooks with no where near the same level of experience. This is bad. Soo very bad. My grandpa George "sonny" young and nana Gwen young grew up on the beach in Waikiki in the 20's paddling and surfing. This is a slap in the face to that whole generation who pioneered what being a beach boy really is.

Please! What the City of Honolulu is doing is very sad & destroying part of a huge part of the Hawaiian culture. My parents honeymooned at the Halekulani in 1946 & back in 1958 & brought me in 1961 and share the most loving reason I fell in Love with Hawaii is for the Ohana & warm loving values, the Hawaiian relaxed

I don't know how determined Dive Oahu is with this over take they've made. If signing this petition will help keep the Hawaiian beach boy culture/lifestyle alive...Well count me in. I'd like to see authentic local surfers (that live here) teaching tourists how to surf not tourists teaching tourists how to surf.
