As a former visitor and customer in Waikiki ppl pay for an experience not merely a product or service. We want an authentic grass roots experience with the Aloha vibe creating an ambience no other place in the world can replicate. Keep it real Waikiki

So sad once again native Hawaiians have to fight for land that’s rightfully ours. How is this possible that any Joe Blow off the street with no experience could evict our Beach Boys who are the ones who made Waikiki what it is. Tourist come to Hawaii for this experience not to have other tourists teach them about our beaches. Do what’s Pono here.

Would you go to Nepal as a wealthy native Hawaiian buy out the peoples market places and business of weaving and special colored fabric designs and making so you can triple your investment? Money is money and anyone can do anything to make money. But our world is full of cultures. I indigenous culture and teachings started from generation"S" before us. It is important to preserve culture. This beach boy culture was started and "advertised" by generations. Profiting off indigenous people is morally incorrect to the culture of anywhere in the world. Think about this ..... what if the wealthiest man in the world purchased ALL special "places" like The Beach Boys image doings and teaching is special to Hawaii-- And this wealthy person had no knowledge of Nepal. Alaska, Italy. Korea , Japan Singapore etc. The truth of the culture would diminish and decline. Children would never learn their special places, teachings, techniques, values. It will be lost slowly but surely. If you were form Australia and you went on a vacation in Indonesia and payed money to ride an elephant (please excuse this example if it offends animal rights activists) and pay to fly her experience the culture and talk tot he locals and feel the country you visit... and all the workers were Australian.. It would be very disappointing to me. You could have did that activity at home with your fellow mate instead of spend thousands of dollars to travel for a half way experience of a culture. On a side note, any race or religion can learn the hula and dance beautifully. But to learn it correctly one learns it from a Kumu. This is not about race. This is about people native Hawaiian people who through generations created an image, built a legacy with no money from the start. Passed this down to generations and grew their business. Now comes in deep Hawaiian history of ownership of the beach. The government. It is imoral for another company to profit upon the work, image of The Beach Boys

Please seriously reconsider giving permits to Brian Benton, a non-local who does not understand the importance of the cultural history of Waikiki. So much will be lost . . . It’s not worth it. Sincerely, Michelle Hill
