I vote the Waikiki beach boys continue doing what they've done over these past decades, by keeping the true Aloha spirit alive and not allow someone to come in and take that away for a quick buck.

Yeah... no. Leai (Samoan) to ending the Beach Boys tradition. As a youth of Oahu of Hawaiian heritage, I believe that it's important to preserve any piece of significance our culture holds. This includes the traditions that our locals have set up and uphold. And besides, if it's not broke don't fix it, or replace it with a fancier, unnecessary installation.

Don’t end a tradition that has such a rich history. The Waikiki Beach Boys need to be protected to retain the already dwindling Hawaiian culture. I’d prefer to take my kids for lessons from someone who knows the ocean, not someone who is a good businessman.

It’s a shame to see the Waikiki beach culture go through this. This change to Waikiki is unacceptable. These people are great people who bring happiness to a lot of native Hawaiians and outsiders that visit here with a priceless experience that can’t be replaced. I think other people can’t give the same quality as the Waikiki beach boys do. Also I feel more comfortable having the Waikiki beach boys teaching the public because I know for a fact that they will save people’s lives if put in these kind of situations or responding to emergencies that could occur.
It’s about what’s right! Being Pono
