Our dad was a waterman in the 1920's and '30's. He met our mother while both were surfing off Waikiki. Beach boy lore was part of family lore. The Beach Boys have for decades been part of the fabric of Island society. They are not there to sell dive gear and suntan lotion. Without them an essential part of Waikiki ocean society ceases to exist.

I grew up on Waikiki beach and It wouldn’t be the same without the Aloha spirit of all of our uncles and auntys at the beach boiz stands and if they are forced to change nothing will be the same! Think of the Aloha that comes with the way things are now and how much that will change once they can’t do what has become their lifestyle.

Greed. It’s all about money. The beach boy is a way of life. It’s part of Hawaiian Histor. I wasn’t born here but I grew up here. The Beach Boys taught me how to surf, about canoes, about surf spots, about how to be safe in the water and treat others with respect on the waves. This cannot happen, for once think of the people and not about the money. Greed ruins all good in this world.
