Business might be business anywhere else, but in Hawai’i, many businesses are culturual tied to the people and the land itself. Keep Beach Boys operating in Waikiki and you’ll keep, not only this long lasting local business supported by the people, but this surf culture alive. Their mission is to teach people the wonders of surfing, not sell it to them. Can’t get there anywhere else.

Being a beach boy allowed me to share the protocol of the land and sea to travelers around the world . We are at the front lines of sharing aloha spirit . Surfing just became an Olympic sport after hundred years of its initial introduction and politics threaten to steal a treasured part of our culture . The #1 question guest ask is “do you surf?” Beach boys are the like the kings guards that once stood the grounds of Iolani Palace . Protect the nobility of our sands and sea !

It’s part of the culture past Hawaiians are trying to keep around. The City should stop taking away from the Hawaiians and start thinking about them first. Nevamind all the buildings, rails, marinas, “high income homes” and “mainland” lifestyles, it’s a waste! Hawaiians no like that kind stuff. Like the Uncle said on the news. I agree, this Hawaii will definitely be Florida in the next 5 years. #keephawaiihawaiian #keeeeeephawaiianlandsinhawaiianhands

On my first trip to Hawaii, I was greeted by the legend Rabbit Kekai at one of the exact spots that is involved. He was a kind, funny and generous man that carried the spirit of Aloha. There is a mystique about that strip of sand that I feel every time I come back. From Diamond Head to Ala Moana and beyond, the Hawaiian culture and Aloha spirit should be on display forever. It needs to be protected. In a place that is rooted in respect, some of the comments made by DiveOahu are disrespectful to thousands of years of culture. I can assure you the Duke is stirring in his grave seeing what is happening. He brought surfing to the world and Hawaii is the reason I have traveled the world to capture the feeling that The Beach Boys represent. Aloha.
