You cannot let this die! This is an identity that must remain. I love the beach boy life style in Waikiki, this is what keeps me coming back year after year! Please don’t take that away!

As a former student and resident of Hawaii for 17 years I believe the beach boy services and Waikiki go hand in hand with preserving cultural identity, history and the tradition of beach boy services. The lifestyle and work they do in the water teaching about surfing Waikiki, their generations of uncles , brothers and families who have taughts the tourists about Hawaii’s culture would be changed or worse, lost forever. Waikiki has lost most of its identity and this is one of the last things that will take away the spirt and aloha that so many generations of visitors have come to love and enjoy. As well as being surf instructors and canoe paddlers The Beach Boys have always been caretakers of the beach and water and instill these practices of respecting and protecting the ocean that is also reflective of the sense of community that Hawaii has.

Why is banning the beach boys even being considered? They are a great help and work so hard to give everyone that whole aloha experience....

I was born and raised on the east side of Oahu, beautiful Waimanalo, I used to live going to Waik’s and seeing all da old school beach boys out there teaching and sharing our culture, Da beach boys is a big part of our culture, taking that away would be detrimental Waikiki
