Waikiki Beach boys are a historical and meaningful experience not only for visitors but also for us locals. They are rooted in culture, have stories of old and new to share, and most of all they live and breath the ALOHA SPIRIT (L 1986, c 202, s 2). It would be a travesty to obliterate the were ones who put Waikiki on the map, all for the sake of the dollar. Hawai’i has a deep sense of tradition and respect, this is the complete opposite. Is this what we have become? Aloha is what has and will set us apart.

My parents worked with The Beach Boys before I was born, my sisters and I looked up to them growing up and learned a lot from them. They have been doing what they’ve been doing for a long time and for most of them their job is their life. As a water man I can say that we have a connection to the ocean and to take away these beach boys strongest connection to the ocean would be not only a mistake but a shame.

Waikiki Beach boys are part of our history. Many of them descendants of of beach boys with many traditions that visitors have come to know.
Why a dive company? Seems that they are going to focus on things like div I ng that would operate out if other locations. Beach boys provide an experience in Waikiki that is unique. It would be disappointing to see a tradition end.
