I am a second generation of a beach boy Legend his name is Jama Kekai. Many of the Beach Boys today have been raised by these legends and have learned what the beach boy culture really is and what is inspected in every new generation of beachboy today is how to portrayed a culture of aloha to share with our visitors, Waikiki Beach Boys are not pool attendants, they are not servers abd they are not housekeeping. Our visitors look forward to coming to Hawaii and meeting Beachboys and spending countless time with them learning about our culture in an hour, all day & every day that is one of a kind that only a Waikiki beachboy can share a generstional proffession that has been passed down to the next. Our state or City & county Always does things wrong & this will devastate our tourism business for sure. Leave it the way it is this is a life style doesnt need to change with the times...

Its not fair to the people born and raised on these beaches through generations to be taken over by corporations who care more about profit than aloha.

The beach boy lifestyle is what created a business platform in Waikiki. If you take away the original beach boys, the culture that allures visitors to learn to surf from the descendants of those who were there from the beginning will be lost. They are not another commodity that can be exploited for the financial gain of another. The are living stewards to the Aloha way of life. They strive everyday to share their knowledge, experience, respect and love for our island home. Waikiki beach boys tradition of teaching surfing isn’t just about surfing. It’s so much more. When a person experiences a lesson with a true Waikiki Beach Boy... that memory lasts a lifetime! I can personally guarantee that those who have had the blessing to spend a day with them on Waikiki beach leave with more than kids a surf lesson... they leave with a sense of belonging to something bigger! #savethewaikikibeachboytraditions
