New to the island and constantly hear about how Honolulu "used to be". Ex: International marketplace before it became a mall. Corporations have already taken so much away from this place. But how can you take the beach boys away from Waikiki? Just absurd.

As a surfer and activist, I am so appalled by what is happening to The Beach Boys. This ian just another example of how people with more money and power are trying to take control of situations they shouldn’t be in control of. I will boycott everything and anything other than The Beach Boys at Waikiki and tell other surfers not to go there in he future if they arent happy with their situation at Waikiki.

I remember coming here 25 years ago and hanging out with the Beach Boys after their work session at Dukes. All the old uncle are so amazing as they taught me how to surf that earlier on that day. Don't let the culture die here we need them in Waikiki.

No Hawaiians no Aloha..who wants all white hula dancers next? The culture was started through these men and I am grateful they paved the way for surf schools on Maui which employs many Hawaiian youth in their birthright and the sport that sprung so many into fame

Lowest bidders are why this state is going to ruins. Water sports in this state need to be run by local people with extensive knowledge of where the water is breaking, how the seasons change things, jellyfish from the moon cycles. Someone who has been here for a year cannot possibly know a lifetime of knowledge to responsibly run this business. Wanting to run this business to make money is not a good enough reason to open this particular business that involves people’s safety on the water.

Let's not relegate this part of Hawaiian and surfing legacy to a museum. The Beach Boys have been the epitome of the Aloha spirit since inception, why bury it under some commercial enterprise that isn't able to be experienced by all.......
