Shame on the City of Honolulu for approving this....$$$ hungry much? How is this supporting local or having aloha for Hawaiiʻs people or culture...all the beach boy uncles looking down shaking their heads @ this nonsense....

The Beach Boys of Waikiki were, and continue to be, a significant part of the history, and culture, of Hawaii. This should be continually recognized, and celebrated. Waikiki needs real Hawaiian water men.

We as tourists do not want big box beach marketing. I love Oahu and Waikiki the way it is. Don't change the Hawaiian beach experience and culture.

I know couple of The Beach Boys that Work at that spots from getting to know them from working hotels. and they’re all good guys that enjoy there jobs and having fun while doing it and that’s just the usual thing for them getting it passed down from generation to generation. They’re fathers teach them from young for them to grow up and give the experience that they learned to the tourists that come and visit and also enjoy our culture and also respect it. This been set for years and nothing has every went bad about spreading the aloha and malama through surfing so why change the original boys who’s willing to show that

The beach boy stand is a gem in Waikiki that is about to be destroyed by greed. It supports many of my local friends and is their primary source of income. Someone with zero knowledge about surfing, let alone the Waikiki surf break itself should not be allowed to run the stand. The new owner has no sense of community, roots, or ocean knowledge which is what tourists depend on.
Employees under the new owner will not be paid sufficient enough to make a decent living driving the current locals to find alternative work. Also, oversight will be poor to the lack of knowledge that this owner has about the ocean. This brings up the issue of safety which should be the primary concern when running a beach stand. The current beach boys deserve to keep their job where many of them carry family legacy and knowledge of the ocean incomparable to anyone competing for the stand. This is not pono, let’s not let these greedy people ruin Waikiki for both the locals and tourist.
