Give the Hawaiians back their beach boy contract!! Tourists do not want cabana boys like Cancun or the Caribbean! They want local boys, the REAL people, the same Hawaiians that have been doing the job perfectly for years and years! They are skilled watermen and women that take care of the tourists, ocean, land and our beaches! Tourists want the culture of Hawai'i not the same homogenized service they can get in the rest of the world. Hawai'i is special and made that way because of it's Hawaiian people and culture! This new mainland ompany will not do Waikiki beach justice.

I learned how to surf from beach boys. They are invaluable to anyone who wants to learn - culture included. You can't lose the beach boys of Waikiki or you lose part of Hawai'i.

TRAGIC!! Please save the beach oys and their Mana!! That is what people have come to experience for generations!! My late husband Donald, Rabbit Kakai, Cowboy, the Duke and all the Watermen inshrined ar the Waikiki Canoe club would be mortified!! Please don't ihui the whole operation!! Many people have made a living in many ways from surfing lessons, diving, fishing, and the longing to live this kind of life. Over the past 50 years, it has become a bargaining chip for big business and moved the native Hawaiians to places that are in some cases uninhabitable, to grow the tourism industry .Why do the islands and it's Ohana keep being pushed further and further away to accommodate more and more businesses not in best interests of everyone. Compromise. Greed is the epitome of not being or seeing beyond yourself by exploitation! Please keep this heritage alive! Many Mahalos for reading!! Diane Sidwell-Takayama

The Beach Boys are some of the original Surfers going way back. They are a large part of the reason that surfing is so popular in Waikiki. They are an intricate part of the fabric of Waikiki. Replacing them with corporate haole operation is a bad idea. I am amainland haole and even I recognize this. Whoever awarded this contract to the new guy is making a bad mistake. It will have long-term negative consequences.

been coming to Hawaii (Waikiki) every year since 1982. The Beach Boys are a vital reason for our visit. They have been our Ohana for many many years and have become very close and personal friends. Please retain their culture and way of life foe friends like us and new daily tourist. They are a big part of Hawaii's Aloha.
