We teachers are very saddened by the way Flo has been treated. She has been an inspiring and supportive Principal. Many of us have worked at SH for years - we love our school. We are not in a position to resign in protest. And we must get on with teaching our students. We don't have the liberty to express our support as publicly as we would like. But we are angry and anxious about the future of our great school. Flo has taken on the boys' club & shown honour, courage and integrity.

As a parent of two daughters at Somerville House I have been disappointed to hear of the corporate governance issues at the PMSA, the quite questionable behaviour of the elected officials and the negative effect this is having on the teaching staff and reputation of the school.
At a personal level and with the limited information provided to parents it appears the person who is acting with dignity through this difficult time is Flo Kearney and the teachers who continue to perform admirably in difficult and uncertain conditions. In my opinion Flo Kearney should be congratulated on the position she has taken and asked to reconsider her resignation. Further an independent investigation into the current events and structure of the PMSA should be conducted with recommendations implemented given the importance of their role in governing a number of schools within Queensland.

Apart from my massive disapointment that Flo Kearney has been forced to resign by the actions of the PMSA and their council.
I am amazed by the failure of the leaders of the PMSA and the Church body to address these issues properly, and publicly, to reassure the Somerville, BBC, Clayfield and Sunshine Coast Grammar communities.
There have been so many reported accusations of grubby and dishonest behaviour by members of the PMSA that go against the stated beliefs of the organisation they represent, as well as society as a whole, that action must be taken immediately to remove them of any positions they hold.
Do not try and hide the truth, and hope it will all go away, because we all know how well that works.

Flo is an outstanding head of school. The integrity of the PMSA leadership has been called into question. Independent oversight is needed until matters are investigated and questions answered. In these troubling times, the legacy of female educational excellence must be upheld.

Our daughter and we are so sad that you have felt the need to resign Mrs Kearney. We would be thrilled if you were to reconsider and stay. This amazing school is made all the more wonderful because you are part of it.

Mrs Kearney is an ethical and professional person who has been treated poorly, we need to re-instate Mrs Kearney and become an independent school (not run by the PMSA), we need a resolution ASAP

The Somerville House Principal, teachers and staff encourage our girls to be free independent thinkers and leaders with a strong sense of accountability. I'm struggling to find any strong independence, leadership and accountability in recent correspondence from the PMSA and Church moderators to the school community in response to concerns raised by the sudden resignation of our principal and media articles trivialising data privacy breaches and exposing concerning content in communications of members within the PMSA. More questions are generated than answers provided. Please don't undermine our intelligence by expecting us to accept that sound governance exists and that we should be reassured by statements from the PMSA and moderators which do not address our concerns. Parents are angry and will vote with their feet... having their children walk our the gate to schools that have transparent and strong governance processes and where independence, leadership and accountability are valued and expected at all levels within an organisation.

Lets resolve this quickly please. How can our girls "thrive" if the school continues to be governed by the PMSA ?? After what has been reported of the PMSA this week - I have no confidence in their ability to oversee our amazing school. Time for change!

What message does this send our daughters and sons, that this sort of behavior by the PMSA and their Executive Manager is acceptable.

The PMSA is funded in part by the 4 schools. I trust you (parents) are all satisfied with paying for the exemplary Corporate Services being provided to Somerville House and other PMSA schools through your school fees. I was very surprised (12/10) that the Somerville House School Council endorses this past behaviour as 'exemplary'
