XXX Don’t clear-cut the forest bordering Cambridge’s Reservoir!

If there is ANY possible way to avoid clear cutting these trees we must do it! We are out of time. We must save every single tree we can.

This concept is absurd. Stop destroying the very habitat that sequesters carbon and keeps the natural balance.

This proposal is scandalous.

Put solar on homes and building, parking lot covers. Don’t cut down trees and critical habitat for local wildlife. I can’t believe this is even a consideration for Lexington.

Let's hope Lexington can come with a better solution than trading a forest for solar panels. While installing more solar panels is a good idea, cutting down forested land that takes away habitat from birds, pollinators and other wildlife that need the forests for survival is not a good trade-off. I'm sure Lexington can come up with other possibilities, such as putting solar panels on tops of all municipal buildings, Lexington schools and creating cover for parking lots that can provide space for panels instead.

This forest protects and maintains the water qualtiy of the reservoir. We must preserve the forest for water quality, for photosynthesis, for evapotranspiration, for cooling in the summer, for habitat, for beauty and quality of life. Replacing this forest with a solar field only exacerbates the problem of desertification. Save Earth. Protect the forest.

Most climate scientists are reporting that we need to preserve forests to fight climate change - they store enormous amounts of carbon, in addition to providing habitat for many species at risk of extinction. Forests need to be preserved for our survival. Solar panels can be sited elsewhere.

Better to install solar panels on rooftops than to cut down forests!

Befouling a water supply is environmentally destructive. No amount of solar panels, which could go elsewhere, can make up for destroying all of these trees. The proponent, the Planning Board and whoever in Lexington city government who thought this zoning change would slide through without notice all have to know that this is a terrible idea. Please don't let it happen.

This is flying under the radar for many residents of all the communities who will be affected!!! Share share share. We need a huge response opposing this nightmare!!

I was just at a lecture with Dr. Moomaw (Nobel prize 2011) raising the cry to save all forest as the greatest CO2 saviors to the climate crisis. I cannot imagine anyone being given permission to take down trees knowing how dire this would be to our climate crisis.

Cutting down the best tool we have to remove carbon (trees) to install heavy carbon footprint manufacturing solar panels - makes no sense at all.
