XXX Don’t clear-cut the forest bordering Cambridge’s Reservoir!

Yes we need a solar farm. Yes we need forests around and near cities. we aren't moving the cities, and we aren't moving the forests, so move the solar farm... perhaps on stanchions atop Route 128.

Please protect our drinking water! Solar is great, but it can go somewhere else.

The forest surrounding the Cambridge reservoir is critical to protecting the water, plus the living trees provide habitat and carbon sequestration. This is not the place for a solar installation! We have abundant hardscape possibilities to utilize instead.

We are all for more solar panels, but Not at the expense of trees.

Plan A: cut acres of carbon sequestration vs. Plan B: demo of floating PV

Lexington can have both trees and solar! Figure out another place for the solar farm...

Let’s find a way to use solar panels and not destroy healthy forests/woods. Thank you.

Please do not cut down the trees. So many places to put the solar panels which are also needed.

clean energy sounds good, yet I agree that rather than cut down the trees and other plants that support local wildlife, a parking lot or on top of buildings would be much better

The focus on supporting 'business as usual' through solar panels is so mistaken. Out in western and central Massachusetts we are losing thousands of acres to solar panels. It takes 3000 degrees of heat to make a solar panel and the destruction from mining lithium is horrendous. It is about time the people close to Boston help their rural counterparts and indigenous people in the west and south fight back this awful solar threat.

There are better places to put solar panels. Cutting down trees and destroying the environment to save the environment with environmentally friendly power resources? Ridiculous!

Sometimes it makes sense to cut down a tree or two to put up solar panels. But it is wrong to cut down an entire mature forest that serves as habitat for wildlife and protection for a water reservoir. Not only are there many places where solar can be sited without causing such damage, but there has just been a breakthrough announced re: nuclear fusion. If that is not illusory, we could have in just another decade or so a long term source for clean unlimited power. It makes no sense to cause long-term damage for what may very well be a temporary need.

I agree, what an awful loss of precious forest when parking lots are a much better location for solar fields!

I support solar, but not if/when it involves cutting down mature trees, destroying wildlife habitat, and impacting the drinking water for Cambridge. Solar panels can be on rooftops and over parking lots without impacting forests.

We can not afford this type of destruction of forests and biodiversity at this critical time.

I support solar, but not when it involves cutting down mature trees and destroying wildlife habitat. Not to mention the threat this poses to the drinking water for Cambridge! Make smarter, forward-thinking choices, such as siting on rooftops and over parking lots.

Are any of those who are just interested in making money aware of the impact of climate change . Just closing our eyes and acting as if what is happening all over the world will never happen in Cambridge is just wishful thinking. Instead of seeing how many big build!ings our City can hold, can we take the time to think abt decisions being made here are extending far beyond our City. Someone once said: "If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem." Ignoring climate change and accepting the truth that the the existence of birds and bees, plants, flowers, trees are all how we, humans, continue to exist.
