As a working parent these hours are tough I agree with having a later start time if they need to save money.

Current research supports the exact opposite change. Disappointing our leaders are not heading this best practice information

This is an awful idea. Children need their sleep, especially when some kids activities don't end til 9-10 in the evening.

This proposal is not a good one. Why is the school board proposing to make this change. Kids will be tired. They need to make realistic changes and this is NOT one of them

This is crazy. Kids need more sleep as they get towards teen years & sports activities get later (practice/games) in the evening. Please change this back or opt for an even later start time. Thanks.

Expecting a child to get up and be ready this early in the morning is rediculous. Kids have evening activities that also build them into amazing people so they can’t give these up just to get to bed early for a rediculous start time like this.

They did the same thing at Good Sheperd School and the new hours are really tough for working parents.

Signing as a concerned parent/grandparent for students attending St Martha.

Our daughter attends this school and we strongly disagree with this change. For primary school children, transportation safety needs to be considered as later start times are safer for children waiting for buses or walking to school. For middle-school children, the evidence in favour of later start times is overwhelming. https://schoolstarttime.org/ School budgets should not take priority over children’s safety and maximizing learning opportunities.

As an educator, I know that the research indicates earlier start times has a negative impact on learning.

Is this in the best interest of the students?? I think not. Just looking to save a few $$. Ridiculous.

This is crazy early. If you change times make it later. Kids cannot function at this hour this also makes childcare harder for parents.

This will be a serious detriment to our special needs son + typical child who will now be required to take the bus by 7:30 AM. Absolutely ridiculous for elementary aged children.

Our school already adjusted the start time a few years go when fter Bessie Nichols opened and people complained the traffic was to contested in the mornings. Leave the times alone. Adolescent children have a hard enough time functioning at 815am. It has been proven thier brains do not fully function until about 10am
