Affordable dutch front town homes, duplexes are way better options than building a Casey's.
Think of the property and homes next to a 24 hr Casey's.

Casey's wanted to monopolize our town by buying out the neighborhood stores, now keep them open so our neighborhood kids (and seniors)don't have to travel halfway across town to go there on foot, , that would make it a much more dangerous journey.

Casey's at that location would be a accident waiting to happen. It would not be a mater of if, it would be a matter of when.

I oppose amending the City of Pella Comprehensive Plan in order to accommodate placing a gas station/convenience store in the 500 block of Main Street. The city would be better served with a housing development.

We don't need an ugly gas station that will hide our beautiful library and bike path.i hate going into towns and all u really see first is a gas station. We are supposed to be unique.lets keep it that way.

I vote NO on the location that Casey's wants to build. As a home owner on the property I would like to see more housing projects that enhances the uniqueness of the present historical homes.

The planning and zoning committee should respect Pella citizen requests, the intent to preserve a thriving historical district, and the ideal of a gateway corridor to maintain Pella's quaintness and not approve the construction of a Caseys gas station on the 500 block of Main Street

As a concerned citizen I strongly object to amend Pella's Comprehensive Plan in order to please Casey's General Store, Inc. Specifically the Comprehensive Plan should not be amended to allow the construction of a Casey's gasoline station and convenience store in the 500 block of Main St. This section of property since I was a child has always been residential in nature and should remain so. Furthermore Casey's and its associated partners had more than enough time to review the Comprehensive Plan, specifically the section that addresses the use of this property in the 500 block of Main St. Furthermore those who bought the property and have Casey's acting as their agent also had time to study the plan and also had the opportunity to participate in the development of the plan. Now because the plan is preventing Casey's from having their way as a large corporation not even based in Pella, they want the plan amended. This is like a baseball team that is behind by 10 runs in the bottom of the 9th inning wanting baseball rules changed to make a regular game consist of 11 innings so they can win. Well I say no way. The Planning and Zoning Commission needs to rule that we are not tied and the rules of the game are not going be changed just because Casey's doesn't like the situation they find themselves in.

Please respect the intent of Pella's Comprehensive Plan, as well as the values imparted as part of Pella's first Historic District, and our community's unique heritage, by disallowing any request by Casey's to construct a convenience store on this location.

I do not want the eye sore of a Casey's or any other convenient store in the proposed area! It's a beautiful entrance to our city with out the glare and traffic this store will bring, and right over the widened side walk leading to the bike trails! There are a lot of citizens who walk, ride bike in this area.
