Service 700/700A, which is currently operated by SMRT Buses Ltd, will be withdrawn from 16 August 2020. As we all know 700 isn't a new route, it's served residents along the route for years, everyone's used to snoring from one end to the other and I'm sure nobody will want to change buses which will cause long term problems such as more buses on the roads and more overcrowded bus stops. This will cause residents in Pending, Petir, Chestnut and Cashew to lose their fast and hassle-free link to the city. With the government controlling the bus services nowadays, we should expect better services, and not a link taken away from us residents! Residents who use bus 700/700A, please support our petition so that 700/700A will not be cancelled!

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have come forward to keep our bus route alive. We are nearing a hundred signatures which is a number I never imagined we would see. Please pass this link to someone who relies on the 700 so we can push this total even higher together.

The 700 bus service is essential for our kids at GESS to get to school and especially to get home independently. While school was closed during circuit breaker it was used less, but as of Aug 17th the kids are hopefully back in classes at GESS.
This bus has been around serving residents for years and is the only direct bus service to orchard and common mrt interchange like newton and dhoby gaut. Taking the feeder service 973 to Hillview mrt as suggested by smrt takes longer distance and time.
Bus 700 is extremely important for the residents from Bukit Bangjang (especially from Block 229, Petir Road), combing many Condos and German European School, passing by the Orchard Road to C B D.... the Bus routine can be changed for efficiency, but please do not delete it!
700 is a very useful route and we cannot always depend on MRT for a faster travel as in the case where the MRT system breaks down, there is still and alternative route to travel from Bukit Panjang area to and from the CBD area.
This bus brings me to work every day. The MRT is already overcrowded during prak hours. Especially now considering covid-19 the bus should not be cancelled, especially not during peak hours. I often can’t sit so crowded is the bus. HenceI don’t understand the cancellation.
Please do not cancel 700
This is soooooo inconvenient. I live at Dairy Farm and service 700/700A runs directly and very quickly from my place to Orchard and Esplanade. It only takes about 20 minutes and it is less crowded given the social distancing we are practising now. Very selfish of LTA to withdraw these services without thinking of the sentiment of the commuters.

In recent weeks, I started using bus 700/700A to travel from Dairy Farm, to Orchard, Bras Basah and Raffles Place after my weekend hikes at Bukit Timah Hill. I am heartbroken to know it will be gone in less than 2 weeks from now..
